PMFJI: Ed, Jeff and Cetin all have good ideas. We recently had a similar situation with moving some data from FP-DOS to and Oracle table, and found that often only the first part of the memo field is needed, so you might consider just making as wide a character field as possible and store the first part of the memo in that, then just COPY TO xxx DELIMITED...
