What kind of file are you linked to in the General field?

Do you need to track the actual changes or just that changes were made?

>I have an audit function to track changes made to many different tables. Some of the tables have general fields. The code stores the oldval into a property of the audit class and then compares it to the current value. However, storing a general field to a property or variable causes and error message. Is there anyway to track changes to a general field? I know at least one general field is linked and not embedded.
