George et al,

Here is what I don't understand. In Word/ Excel/ etc. - even on my little ink-jet printer - the collate option is available. However, regardless of what I try in VFP - prompt, sys(1037), common dialog, - I either get no collate checkbox at all, or it is disabled.

Help! My client is screaming at me because "well - Word and Excel does it, so why can't your app!"

TIA,
Ken

>>>My guess would be that it's doesn't show up on the dialog if it's not an available optin (instead of being greyed out on the VFP dialog).

>>>Unfortunately, my printer doesn't support collate, either.

>>f it's available, it may only be present via SYS(1037) rather than the PROMPT clause, or via the Common Dialogs control.

>I'm not sure about this. SYS(1037) presents the Print Setup. This allows for the setting of orientation, paper size, etc., but not the number of copies So does setting the flags property of the Common Dialogs to 0x40. The collate check box (I believe) appears on the Print dialog, since this is the one that shows number of copies. Further, if you set the flags property to pdCollate (0x10), you'll see the page images in the dialog set to a collated sequence. Clearing this shows them in a non-collated sequence.
