Hi Missy,

This is one you want to map out carefully, because maintaining the Oracle database is going to be a whole 'nother level of complexity. Good criteria to use are:

Is this data required from multiple, diverse front-ends?
Is the data critical? Do you need the robustness and power of a server database?
Are there a lot of interlinked transactions requiring powerful commit and rollback capabilities?

>Does anyone have any specific criteria when an application should be upsized to use oracle tables? We are in the process of moving in this direction and I am trying to understand what specifics should be considered to justify the move. I know that size and scalability are good reasons, but I was hoping to hear from some of you that are using Oracle tables and why you made the decision. All suggestions welcome.
