Yea but it's easier to say "damn there go my 250 bucks", than it is to say "DAMN!!! there go my 800 bucks".

In other words, there's always something at mid range that will give you good performance without living you broke, If you have to update in a year, who cares, you dindn't spend that much. I paid around a $100.00 USD for my CPU in february, and I don't mind upgrading early next year, will need a new motherboard though..and RDRAM..a larger disk would be nice :), it never ends.
