The DB has it's quirks, but, especially, if this system will be widely used I think you should spend some time on getting it to run properly with a database.

Thanks for the input people. I guess I'll keep the DBCs. It's just that if you have that many copies of a program out there you want to keep it as stable as possible. Now that I have solved the problem with the indexing I guess I feel better about it.
