I'm curious about how various SQL databases are sold.
I called Microwarehouse and gave the agent a hypothetical where MS SQL-server was used on a network. He said a 7-client license would be $1219.95. I mentioned "intranet" and he said to add $2599.95.
I didn't go into any details with him because I just wanted to get a feel for the pricing.
Any one have a clear picture on how SQL-server is priced?
What about IBM DB2?
What about My-SQL?
Any other good and/or inexpensive options?
