Ah, great resource. A thorough, reasonably clear explanation of the pricing.

It answers one question in particular. If I use VFP as middleware with only one connection between VFP and SQL Server, they consider each connecting client as having an indirect connection to SQL Server and expect one CAL (client access license) for each machine connecting to VFP. For my reservation system that would mean a charge of around $11K. Same difference if I use VFP front-ends connecting to the SQL Server.
