I was sitting at the MVP luncheon at DevCon in Orlando and said "Who is making the beta shirts this year?" Everyone sitting at the table looked at me and said "You are".

So, I got permission from MS to use the Fox head logo, found a place to make the shirts, got the pricing (they were $40 US including shipping). I put a notice on the beta newsgroup and took orders.
