PMFJI, but have you tried giving the combo boxes an initial value (say "" or 0) - I've found that if you interrogate .value before a selection is made you can get NULL, but that after a choice has been made you get a value of the appropriate type.
Just a thought.

>If i click a value in combo1, then combo2, then combo3, I have to go back and change the value of combo1. At this point the Method does what it is supposed to do. Now i change combo1 back to the value I origonally wanted to get the necessary output.

>>>i've got combo1,combo2,and combo3. selected values in these three combos are used in method1 to produce a value in textbox bdft1. a second row of combos does the same with method2 and comes out in textbox bdft2. method tbf() adds the values in the two textboxes and spits it out in textbox total.
>>>
>>>the addition method doesn't work when a value is chosen in order: combo1, combo2, and combo3; but when you go back and rechoose combo1 it does.
>>>
>>>any and all suggestions are welcome.

>>>Thanks ahead of time,

>>Try DisplayValue instead of value.
