Lots of things could be causing it - one likely source is an improperly installed VFP6 SP3 runtime. If you didn't install the VFP6 app with Setup Wizard or an equivalent installer putting the VFP6 runtime in place, I'd start by trying to isntall the VFP6 runtime properly and see if the problem went away. SIMPLY COPYING RUNTIME FILES IN PLACE IS NOT AN ADEQUATE INSTALL OF THE VFP6 RUNTIME. TRYING TO RUN A VFP6 SP3-COMPILED APP WITH a PRE-SP3 RUNTIME WILL NOT WORK RELIABLY, EITHER.

You may also be looking at issues with localization if you use a non-english, non-US version of Windows. Someone with detailed experience with the Fernch language version may be able to give you insights on differences in the runtime distribution needed for a localized version of Windows. I am aware of issues with components on early retail releases of the Japanese and Hebrew language versions of Win95, but both use non-Roman character environments.

If you are running Win95, especially a retail Win95 or Win95a, it's likely that some operating system components needed by VFP are not present on the target system - one example are the DCOM components. You may need to upgrade the operating system or to apply patches to the operating system in order to get the needed components for your application. MS tech support is your best source of information on this.
