I've recently encountered a situation where 2 of my VFP tables have become corrupted. My user was running a VFP 6 app which resides on a Novell server. When she attempted to exit the app (she had already exited out of all of the forms, etc, and all tables were closed)
she got a Novell error message saying that she was out of disk space on the server, and that she would loose data. I immediately verified that there was disk space remaining, and told her to go ahead and get out. A short time later when I attempted to look at one of the tables, I got an error message saying that it was not a table. It still had the DBF extension on the file, but VFP would not see it as a table. The other table, however, is a real concern. VFP still sees this table as a table, but when you browse it, a portion of the data shows up as | symbols, instead of the information that was entered.
Obviously there was a Novell problem ( or server problem), but I wonder why the tables became corrupted ??, if there is any way to recover the information, and how to prevent this problem in the future.

I would greatly appreciate hearing any thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance,

Lori
