No, it is disabled immediately after closing the browse or message window, whether I click on it or not; that is, it is grayed out and clicking does not do anything. All of the forms objects continue to work fine. Interestingly, if I run a report preview (which is called from one of my form's command buttons), the problem is cleared up and the close button is then active. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help!

>Does it only disable after you click it to close the window and the window remains on the screen? If so that means you have a dangling object reference. There's a tool available on m website or in the files here that will help you track it down.

>>If I run a message box or browse window under my current form, then the close button ('X' in top right corner -- the internal Windows thing) becomes disabled! How come? If I do not run these, all is fine. For example, I can run another form, or run a report preview, and when I return to the parent form the close button is still active.
