I'm in the process of creating a new Order Entry system for a client using VFP 6.0 (sp3). I have to utilize their existing files for the near term. One of their files is causing all kinds of problems.
This file was created in Clipper many moons ago. I created a CDX index off a standard field (called Profile) and it appeared to work well. The strangest thing though, I can see the Index using Modi Structure and Properties, yet, when I try to set the order to this index, I get a "No Index Tag" message. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't. To complicate the issue, the Clipper programs, which have worked for years, are crashing with a message indicating that the name of the index field I created is not recognized.

I've tried all kinds of things - e.g. resetting the index, recreating the index, setting the Order to, Index on fieldname tag fieldname, index on Invoice using invoice index cdx, etc. COuld it be a difference in code pages or something that someone else has experienced? I'm out of options and the client's system is crashing every day. Sure could use some insight here.
