There wouldn't be a noticeable difference in execution speed moving the exe from server to client. When a client runs an exe from a file server, it is pulling the exe accross the wire and executing locally. Moving the exe locally will speed the initial load time, but with a LAN, the difference is neglible. The downside to moving the app locally is you would have to come up with a scheme for updating the exe to multiple clients. That can be done, but it means extra work/planning for the developer.
