>>Does anyone know of a map generating program that's reads DBF's? One of my clients needs to create street maps based upon map grid coordinates stored in my VFP tables. He'd been using a great Thomas Bros Map program called GeoFinder, but it was discontinued and there are some compatability problems now. There are a lot of map programs but we can't find one that works with VFP tables. Any suggestions?

Michael,
>There are MapObjects, MapInfo, MapLinx, DbCAD dev, SylvanMaps, LiveMap, Macon MapKit etc.
>I have tried MapObjects from GIS leader ESRI (
www.esri.com) and impressed. You could download an evaluation. It works with (of course) ARCINFO files too besides other well known formats. Can read dBase files for info but primarily uses ESRI shp files to draw map. ESRI whitepapers explain how to create shp files and easy if you have a table holding line, polygons etc definitions. It also has an AddressMatcher object :) Biggest problem it costs $1000+.
>OTOH if you have coordinates in a table and what you would do is just to show, zoom then you could directly use VFP to do the drawing.

Cetin,
Thank you for your several suggestions! I'll check them out.
