Long reply there. ;} But interesting. If Atlanta's results are anything to go by then you'll have have 3 surprises:

1) Traffic will be a breeze. The combination of limiting access and people leaving town will make things wonderful.

2) The only businesses that will do well will be the ones within a stone's throw of an event. Lots of people travelling on very tight budgets don't go out and eat much.

3) Housing won't be as tight as they predict. Lots of corporations are reserving more rooms than they need and they'll be releasing what they don't need about 2 weeks before the Olympics begin.

I'd just like to see Utah. I love the desert and the Rocky Mountains. They're a lot more interesting after living in the soggy, green Southeast all my life.
