I don't think modality would have anything to do with it. Hmmm...do you have an explicit RETURN .T. after ThisForm.Release? Try that if not.
>yes i've tried it with the debugger - set step on - and no matter where i put thisform.release it steps on it (should execute,right?) but does not seem to release form. the window type is modal, maybe its looking for return in unload event of form. i think just about every form i have is modal. i'll play with it. the window type needs to modal. its a guess but any suggestions are welcomed.
