Title:
Shared Access & Updateable Views
When using updateable views in a multi-user system, what is the best strategy to deal with possible conflicts between multiple users? I haven't used optimistic buffering, and I understand that views default to optimistic [I'm still pretty much into pessimistic buffering when not using views - I know, I know....that's a subject of another thread...]
I've been investigating using GetFldState. Does this function pertain to views? It just hit me, though, that GetFldState will give me info about the VIEW and not the underlying data, right?
Should I be using CurVal(), OldVal() to check the underlying table fields? but I thought that w/updateable views the idea was to only deal w/the view, not the underlying table data directly.
I'm obviously confused! Input is appreciated.
