So of course, when the program tries to access those tables in a SQL statement, the Code Page prompt appears and the proper code page has to be manually selected. Is there any way to automatically choose the code page upon opening that file? Please advise? Thanks in advance.

YOu can suppress that dialog with SET CPDIALOG OFF. Also, look in the utility that ships with VFP "cpzero.prg" for code that might help you.
