In the face of such overwhelming evidence... I stand corrected... As I like to say, it is hard to dispute facts. Actually, Six Flags is a client of mine, and I am in Dallas Frequently. I guess I am doing too much work. I need to look around a bit more... In fact, the hotel I stay at, you can see both Six Flags and the Ball Park.

BTW, have you ever eaten at Fogo De Chao???

>>They say Dallas is a good conference city. I say nay nay.. It is big, and has good food. For its size however, not a lot goes on there.

>The Dallas/Fort Worth area has *many* activities that would lend themselves well to DevCon attendees (all within about an hour's ride):
>- The West End Marketplace in downtown Dallas, which contains many unique clubs and shops in addition to the JFK Museum;
>- the Deep Ellum area just outside downtown Dallas, hangout for all the trendy bars and dance clubs;
>- the movie/TV studios in the Las Colinas area of Irving, home to many motion pictures and television shows (including "Walker, Texas Ranger");
>- Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, one of the better theme amusement parks;
>- The Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers baseball club, and one of the nicest ballyards in the country (and I've been to most of them);
>- The Fort Worth Stockyards area, including Billy Bob's Texas, the largest honky tonk in the country;
>- The Mesquite Rodeo, with National Rodeo Cowboys Association competitions regularly during the year;
>- The Meyerson Center for the Performing Arts, home of the top-rated Dallas Symphony Orchestra and one of the few "tunable" performing halls in the world;
>- The Texas Motor Speedway, a "super speedway" that hosts NASCAR, Busch, IROC and CART races year-round;
>- Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, a beautiful *brand-new* thoroughbred horse racing track with parimutuel tie-ins to other tracks;
>- Texas MotorPlex in Ennis, a top-rated quarter-mile for drag-racing fans;
>- Fair Park, the home of the State Fair of Texas (largest in the country) and the outdoor concert venue StarPlex Amphitheater;
>- OH, and (of course) the Dallas Cowboys and their home, Texas Stadium.

>By 2001, the Grapevine area just north of D/FW Airport will also have a large Opryland Hotel and Resort in addition to the existing Grapevine Mills Mall (one of the largest outlet malls in the country), and downtown Dallas will have finished the brand-new American Airlines Center, the new home of the Mavericks basketball and (NHL champion) Stars hockey teams.
