Hi Erik,
>>Maybe if the concept was altered from etiquette, protocol to something like:
>>"How to get the most from The Universal Thread - A Guide For Posters and Responders (from posters and responders)".
>>That way people wouldn't view them as rules as much as a UT Help .
>>Getting folks to read the help, that's another issue.
>>
>>>I don't want "Rules of engagement", or any other types of rules, for that matter. But a posted document, as well as possibly a notice to new members as to existence by itself could cuase no harm. I doubt any regulars would jump on a newcomer after a document was posted any more than they would before the document was posted.
Maybe I am missing something, but... Isn't there already a "Rules of conduct for posting a message" document? There is a link on the bottom of the message creation form. Some of what has been discussed is already covered there. I'd suggest rather than create another document, ask Michael if he'd update this one after this gets hammered out a bit more.
What do ya think?
