Databases,Tables, Views, Indexing and SQL syntax
Hi Erik
>This one will be very difficult for me to debug, because it looks like something is going on in your runtime envirnment that oyu are not aware of (so I'm not either). YOu have demonstrated in the command window that the fault does not lie with the view...
Well, I think I've found a solution.
Firstly, I created the views at runtime as I said in my previous message. However, this made no difference.
The folder holding the original database and tables is called DATA. it is located in the same directory as my exe. I renamed the DATA directory to DATADIR.
This seems to have done the trick. I can now copy data from that dir, set the current data to the new dir and update the proper tables. Obviously I'm going to keep testing.
I've checked the paths etc. just before I open the views, and there is no path set to the DATA directory. Either I'm missing something, or VFP has a reference to this particular directory name hard coded into it. Although, as we've already said, this doesn't happen at the command line.
Anyway, thanks for the help over the last couple of days.
Best.
Matt.
