>Yea I do seem to recall a user or two asking wyh they had to push "edit" to make changes, at the time I said it was for their own protection :). I'm not sure about autosaving, I know it can be annoying to have that "Do you want to save your changes?" message if your doing a lot of editing, but users are kind of used to being prompted by other programs whenever they change a document. Maybe autosave could be optional, and doesn't seem to hard to implement...hmmmHi
Hi Jorge - You're solution is a good one, with the optional "Save" message.

Part of the logic of a page/form autosave is having the audit trail available as backup, edits can always be recovered, so I can make autosave mandatory. But your idea is fine and easier to implement, if you don't require the audit trail.

BTW, speaking of "Save" messages, I just bought some music software on a CD last weekend, just relesed, and I couldn't believe what I found - when I click the large Exit button, a message says, "Are you sure you want to quit?"

I thought this stupid idea went out years ago :) I want to say: "No, I just pressed the Exit button for the heck of it, I don't really want to exit."
