We designed something using the scroll bar of a grid, we removed everything else from the grid to make it look just like a scroll bar. Probably there's a scroll bar active-x control now. We then placed an edit box inside a container only with a width much greater than the container. We only show a portion then when the scroll bar moves we just shift what portion you see in the container horizontally. Like I said a lot of work. :)
