Rajni,
If text file is already a delimited (delimited with tab, comma, space or some other char) then you could directly open it with excel using the below code :
lcFileName = sys(5)+curdir()+"mytextfile.txt"
oExcel = createobject("Excel.application")
with oExcel
 .Workbooks.open(lcFileName, , , 6, , , , , ",") && Delimited with comma
 .visible = .t.
endwith
Otherwise first get it into a table then copy to text file type xls.
