John Fabiani's suggestion to use the STRTOFILE function worked like a charm. Thank You John! Like many things in program development, it led to another unusual occurance.

In the interactive mode the new program produces a perfect output file. Built into an executable it results in a file of zero length. I am going looking for an environmental variable not set. Anyone have any ideas to help
