Look at West Wind. If you think you are going to have much traffic at all, Look at West Wind. It could be done with ASP, but the current ODBC Drive is single threaded and for a large Volume of traffic would slow you down alot. Did I mention West Wind? :)

>We are considering a project which involves a web application which would be able to connect to an install base of VFP databases running on standalone PCs and LANs at over 100 various sites. The local applications process scheduling transactions placed by the customers of each company.
>
>We need to create a single central Web site which will allow these company's customers to place requests and schedule resources from a single Web site. This web application must maintain a table of static IP addresses specific to each company and be able to process hold and confirm transactions directly to the VFP databases running at each of these sites.
>
>The data transfer between the Web server and VFP databases will be minimal. The web will reqeust available resources from a specific application site DB - the site will process a local hold on the resource and then send the available resource data to the web server - the user will confirm the transaction and the web server will send a confirmation transaction to the application site.

>What suggestions do you have as to products and techniques I might use to accomplish this project. What performance and security issues should I consider. Your help and advise are much appreciated!
