I agree, without stored procs. your c/s is not to nice. Do you thing that VFPCom.dll can help for a C/S model using VFP as Client? Or this is overhead that we do not need on the client side?

Also, views do not scale in the world of components. In other words, you can can't pass them around. This is more of a critique of VFP cursors in general.
