You also may want to be carefull which ODBC driver you use. I had trouble using the Oracle one and ended up using MicroSofts. I know that there's a company (I think it's named InterSolv) that makes ODBC drivers, and I originally wanted to use theirs because the performance was MUCH better, but the cost was too steep for my client because they had a zillion workstations. I think Mark's thing he wrote also talks about this...I would recomend reading it...I know it helped me (as did he) a lot.
