Stonefield Query and QBF Builder are not competing tools; they have different purposes.

QBF Builder is a great tool for doing query-by-form queries in a form. It allows your users to enter search criteria in the same form as they enter data.

Stonefield Query, on the other hand, is a more general purpose querying tool. It displays a "filter builder" dialog in which users can enter query conditions (using comboboxes of field caption and operators), so more complex queries can be done in Stonefield Query than in QBF Builder (but when you're in a form, you're not likely doing complex querying anyway). Also, the cursor created by Stonefield Query can be used for lots of different things: exporting to Word, running against a report, processing records, etc.

Stonefield recently released Stonefield Reports, an object-oriented report writer that uses Stonefield Query as its querying engine.
