OOP is a harder concept to grasp at first, but once understood, it makes life infinitely easier. VB has the advantage of instant gratification - less to learn before you get something out of it, but IMO, much more work to create a useful solution, especially in the data-centric application environment. Once you get past the learning curve for VFP, you can be far more productive with much less effort.
I wouldn't choose VFP to write a device driver. Or VB for that matter...
