I am trying to find a way to disable a menu in a top level form. I have 'do menuname with thisform, .t.' in either the init or gotfocus method, which starts the menu properly, but I cannot use set 'skip of menu menuname' to disable it. I get messages like 'menu not created with define menu'. The menu name is never activated this way.

Whenever I have a modal child form and touch the menu of the calling form, it 'hangs' because I cannot disable the menu...

Any help is appreciated ASAP as I am in the middle of a project with an aggresive deadline...
