Yup - a different alias was selected when the grid was instantiated. I had the grid on the form when the form was instantiated -- but the grid record source is only created later, during the form init, so there was no way it could have been selected when the grid was instantiated. Now I add the grid during the form init and it looks fine. Thanks!
