editing my code in interactivechange of any control, my text doesn't move to the right as i enter characters, it overwrites the characters.

example:

if i have:
thisform.method1()

and want to add something to the front of it, such as:
&&thisform.method1()

it overwrites such as:
&&isform.method1()

Is this typical behavior?
