>That said George, let me share with you a few feelings. Number one, there is NO issue that needs to be cleaned up as far as you are concerned. The issue is between me and some nameless stranger, known only to Michel. You , Evan, have decided to interject your own feelings and opinions here, when none was asked for. I never solicited the help of anybody. It was merely an open letter. Who the hell are you to tell me I should apoligize here. You sir, are so far off base, you are in freaking Mars here. Those of you right now, being so judgemental, let it happen to you, and lets see how you feel.

I have, thinking back to the ruckus I caused over piracy. I felt (and still feel) very strongly about the issue of piracy. I still believe that people who pirate software are low-life thieves, somewhat below the level of an insurance salesman on the evolutionary scale. And I got beaten to death, with my own ethics impugned, because I said that in public on the UT. And I'm still pissed at some people who think I was misrepresenting my own behavior with regard to common practices of (cough) 'software sharing'.

At one point I let it drop - I carried on some back channel discussions in private with a few people after the fact, who're probably still P.O.'d over what I had to say. I wasn't making any headway, wasn't going to change their minds, and was starting to annoy myself as much as the people I wanted to toast over an open pit...

IOW, I got tired of annoying other people, and spending my energies in a pointless pursuit. So I went back to writing code and other more useful pursuits here on UT.

OK. That's over. No more debate. It ain't gonna happen.

>2. As far as the question I asked of Evan, that is between he and I. As such, there is no issue to clear up. Instead, you should mind your own f-ing business here.

Here is where I think you've overreacted. I don't think George meant to attack you, or condemn your behavior. There is a level of polite, politic and gracious response that most people would expect from you. It's like when I get kicked under the table at the restaurant for leaning forward on my elbows in the middle of a meal, gesticulating and knocking over a water glass. I step out of what might be considered polite social behavior, and Karen gives me a quick shot in the shins to get me back in line.

IOW, BFD. George thinks you ought to apologize. You don't. What I think doesn't matter, so I'll keep my f-ing mouth shut on the topic. I don't think his admonishment of your message was impolite - maybe not a good idea in the heat of an argument, but not meant to embarrass or discredit you, or put words in your mouth.

That's one advantage to not deleting the thread - if there are people who really want to debate the semantics of the thread (not here, please), the whole thing is here in black and white. It don't mean nothing.

>3. As far as the MVP issue is concerned, that was in the context of another discussion and has no bearing here. Why you chose to bring that up is beyond me.
>

Only to the extent that the MVPs are held to a higher level of not only technical excellence, but friendly interaction in the user community.

(the ground didn't just open up and swallow me, did it?)

>Lastly, you have interjected yourself in a situation that you have no business being involved in, at least as it pertains to laying personal judgements on what I should or should not do. That goes for Evan as well. He should have known the reply he sent me was going to end up with me flaming his ass.

(Donning Nomex longjohns) Have I asked to be Regular or Extra Crispy? < g >

Can we please just EOT?

>No semenatics or ambiguity here, is there????

Nope, not even a hint of it. You've made your position well-known to everyone.
