JVP stepped up to the plate and left a solid, objective statement of his position. In essense, this whole flame war started thanks to actions taken by an anonymous person, in incredibly poor taste, whose actions on UT run counter to the culture of the UT community, explifying inadequate maturity and a total lack of guts. John made a clear statement of his position, and apologized quite publicly for things said which could be taken poorly. Any disagreements left standing are between John and Evan, and can be resolved out of the forum.

Since you aren't a party to the matter, and the principals seem to have taken reasonable steps to lower the heat level, why not let it drop? You have nothing to gain, and more importantly, as long as the weasel remains a gutless wonder not willing to talke the heat for his actions, continuing this in any sense isn't going to accomplish a thing.

If anyone 'owes' an apology, it's the gutless wonder who started this with a poorly chosen posting. Whatever lower lifde form did this certainly isn't proud of what they did, or they'd be up front telling us who they were and what really prompted this. Since only it and Michel know who started this mess, Michel has decided to preserve the individual's anonymity, and the gutless wonder ain't talking, your commentary can only serve to make things worse.

There's no good reason not to let the topic die off. In case you don't understand, EOT == End Of Thread. I think we're all glad to see this episode come to a close.
