IMO it's not wise to have two different names for two exact the same purposes, even though one may be implemented by VFP natively and the other one added within classes.

As for the prefixes, I don't see the need for them. As a whole, I doubt that naming conventions are usefull at all. For further reading search for naming conventions here on the UT. I've started a thread ragarding this subject a few months ago.
