Thanks for the in-depth analysis on why pure VFP with remote views has some underlying weaknesses (if not just technically, then also business-wise). I plan to investigate other alternatives (or extensions) in the new year.
In my business it is not a "huge issue", I write commercial apps -- for the most part the users don't care / know about what it is written in. They just want it to work well. (I usually say MS Visual Studio / VFP if someone asks what it is developed in).
As for the other users "abrasive" comments towards your position on VB -- who cares. If what your saying makes sense after evaluation, it will be accepted by most reasonable people. By the way I do agree with you that many people seem to respond to questions posted here just to fill up space and have relatively little to add to the actual thread discussion.
