I don't know why people keep saying there's no price there? This is what it says:

"The AFP Demo is a fully functioning package. The only difference between the demo and the "live" version is the "Splash Screen". With the demo you get a "reminder" that this is only a demo and not a licensed copy. Of course the licensed copy never displays the "Splash Screen".

The license for AFP is "per motherboard". So you would only need one license per "motherboard" that AFP is run from.

AFP costs $499 per license."

>>Bill, Wouldn't it make more sense to know both products before you consider one to be better? I understand your bitterness at losing your association with the product. However, there are several valuable products on the market, perhaps equal with one another. I don't think we should attempt to run any of them down, especially for personal reasons. "For larger scale Application development, I'd say go with West Wind." Have you developed one? I asked this because I think Peter Herzog has developed some large-scale applications with AFP and you can see some of the examples on his web site. A product that has been successfully used in the European market and has just become available in English shouldn't be so flippantly tossed aside. I am associated with selling AFP, and I think, to be fair, associations - including those we lost - should be stated. One of the medical mail lists to which I belong, has a rule that requires you is to state whether you are paid in any way by drug companies
>>(rule includes notepads and ballpoints) so that it is clear if criticism or praise is genuine. Please don't misunderstand. I think West Wind is a great product. While I don't use it, I know people like Pablo Flores at Eagle Air Freight who do. While I like AFP better, that doesn't mean I should run down the other product. If Rick Strahl and I got into an argument over a girl and there was bitterness (an unlikely event since I have been married almost 40 years, he is younger, thinner (comparatively speaking), and much better looking than I, in addition to being a nice guy), I don't think it would be a good idea to express preferences in regard to his product to attempt to damage him. I think you know that AFP is as good as West Wind, if not better, is and can easily be used for long term development.

>>>To add to John's statement. I run AFP on my web server and it does have it's pro's and con's, like any product. For larger scale Application development, I'd say go with West Wind. If you need quick and easy with little or no data entry, AFP is a way to quickly get live Fox data up on a web server.
>>>
>>>Although I haven't tried it personally, West Wind has scripting capabilities like AFP. If you are looking long term to develop applications (versus just developing pages to serve dynamic data up on the web), you'd probably be better off starting with West Wind.
