In a nutshell, Cipher50 encryption is not backward compatible. The good news is that Cipher50 works with VFP 5.0 and 6.0; and it is my ambition to carry it forward to VFP 7.0 as well.

What you will need to do is create some kind of intermediate table for a one-time conversion and decrypt the data with Cipher30 and re-encrypt it with Cipher50 and then place the encrypted strings back in their original table.

You cannot jointly operate with Cipher30 and Cipher50 on the same data.
