This may be a long shot, since I'm only exposed to version 1.0 [!!], but Telemagic v 1.0 embedded the alias name in the index expressions, so if the table is given another alias, it wouldn't find the fields referenced by the index. This meant that I wasn't able to use a different alias with the table.
