I read it, wasn't sure what the question was, and short of adding code to a subclass of the DE or the Form itself to add the desired behavior, don't have an answer. The framework I use provides a convenient hook that I can use to accomplish this (there's a custom DEBeforeOpenTables method in the framework so that I don't have to worry about how to hook this, it's behavior that's there as a part of the subclassed basis of my forms from the basic Visual MaxFrame framework.)

In summary - you want to use the Form Designer, don't want to use the default OpenTables behavior in the DE, but want to dso your own procedure to open the tables yourself in a way that runs prior to the Init code of the Form itself. Is that an adequate statement of what you want to do?

Possibly because they didn't understand the question, possibly because they didn't have a good answer (mine was a combination of these two), or possibly because they didn't have a chance to look at the question, or it wasn't something that interested them in particular. Maybe someone who hasn't logged on yet will have a good, easy answer for you. Not all questions are answered, or are answered in a day - in some cases, people don't want to hear the answer provided.

Worse, you're asking a question for someone else - that makes it tough for anyone who'd like to answer but needs more information. Getting your buddy to log onto UT and ask his question might be more productive.
