ALL the icon on the left refreshed each time.. It just gets irksome watching them wink out, take
several seconds to redraw when I'd rather be getting 4k of message content than 4k of the same old gifs every N seconds. I really don't care if the one icon changes from gray to yellow I can see that with a non-zero number sitting under it.
I don't disagree, David. I suppose that one could turn it off (by setting the refresh to 0) and it might help. Then again, you'd have to manually refresh when you wanted to see if anything's happened. Of course, I not the best one to comment on this (and not because I'm "Web Challenged"). I'm accessing the UT through the company's server, which is much faster than my old 33.6 modem.< g >.

perhaps an exageration *g*) times a day those icons get served up off Michel's machine.
I don't know if that's much of an exageration at all, David. If everyone had their refresh set at 60 seconds. You'd only have to continuously average 11.5 users (approx.) for all 24 hours to hit a million. Jeez, I've seen 60-70 people in the forum at a time. How about a user configurable option for the icons< g >? Of course,
I have no clue as to how to do it, so I don't know if it's even possible.
