>>My app is installed at about 40 different locations. All the locations execute my app over a novell network. They all also have their printers installed over the novell network. About once a month I get a phone call that printing from my app is giving the "Print to File" window. They either bought a new printer or had to reinstall their existing printer. Several times using the HP III driver fixed the problem, now I am running into a handful of situations where using the HP III drive is not fixing the problem. Have tried every @$#% HP driver made. The only fix was to get them a local printer. So my "Print to File" problem is definately tied to the network, but what is the fix? Can not have everyone with a local printer. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the Printers in Windows to see what the default printer is, and make certain that if this is involving a DOS app, that at least one of the printers assigned is set to capture output for MS-DOS programs on LPT1, or that a CAPTURE is in effect on that system (CAPTURE SH at the DOS box prompt will show you what Novell thinks it is redirecting.)

My app is VFP 5.0 then 6.0, not DOS. I have ... many many times ... checked the default printer and it is printint to a port that is a printer on the network. Sometimes I have them capture to LPT1, just as something to try, but it seems to make no difference. Unfortunately my client is in another state and I can not see with my own eyes how they have their printers setup, but they read it to me over the phone and it seems OK.

Any other ideas?
