How about setting up a user-printer.dbf that maintains their last selections based on printer port and have a form pop up before printing to show/change printer settings? The fields could be something like
1) UserID
2) PrinterPort (LPT1,2,3)
3) PrinterType (HPLaserIV,IBMProprinter,Epson,etc)
4) Layout (Portrait,Landscape,None/Default)
5) Copies
6) InitString
7) EndString
