Hi John...

I have written a wizard that guides you through the process of creating a map in MapInfo through VFP. The one thing I cannot believe is that MapInfo is NOT VBA-Enabled. I talked with folks in thier Troy, NY HQ. They have no plans to abandon MapBasic. I created some class wrappers that simulate an object model. Thier solution at this point is to use MapX, which is not that great of a product. Rod has used ESRI, and has given it good reviews...

For Doron...

Regardless of which map package you use, you will need to purchase the appropriate overlays to get you the detail you need. If Lat/Long will work for you, then it is a matter of creating a points file, and overlaying that. If you need street detail, then you will need to buy that. And that stuff can get quite expensive. To buy all of the street files for the US from MapInfo, you would need to shell out 30-40 grand.....

>Mapinfo will work, but support is pathetic. There's another company that offers mapping ocx's but I can't remember the name. You might do a search on VFP and mapping here and on dejanews.com
