Are the shapes transparent? How about your lables? My base label class and shape class have their BackStyle properties set to 0, so they take on the color of the objects behind them. The rest of your object (forms, etc) can be controlled with the Colorsource property, and be instructed to take on default windows colors.
FWIW, I use Win2K as well, and have noticed a latency problem when changing color schemes. Not just in VFP, but in all applications, certain objects have to be destroyed and recreated before reflecting the new default colors.
