>I have a user requirement for a textbox or combobox that allows the choice of one of seven preset choices or manual entry of a user defined choice (free text). The entry is stored in a character field in it's entirety (not a foreign key). Combobox seems the choice here. I populate the rowsource with an array and user chooses or enters. The string is stored in the field. Problem is the display of the field contents. When the record is called up, the contents are displayed if they are in the rowsource. If it is a free entry, the combo is empty. I have tried to populate the array with a select statement for display then reset it on the GotFocus for entry, but the table has 250,000 records. Too slow. How can I display the non rowsource entry?
