>My applications are written in FoxPro 2.6 and Visual FoxPro, when do I recommend my clients when to use a database server like SQL or Oracle? Thanks for any advice.

The reason we are moving to SQL Server is datasize. (I have never experienced problems in dBase or Foxpro legacy systems with
even fifty users when the databases where small [25-75 meg or so].)

If you query a dbf table that must pass a tremendous amount
of data back to the pc (>75 meg) to perform the GROUP BY
and WHERE clauses of SQL, it just takes too long and brings
the lan down to a crawl with even ten-fifteen users.

Now I just hope I don't bring our development down to a crawl
since I don't know SQL Server.
